She was a single professional paying what seemed like extremely high monthly premiums to protect her income in the event of accident or sickness.

She had initially taken the income protection out with an independent mortgage broker but hadn’t realised that although the mortgages were independent the additional life cover and income protection were tied to only one company (a tied agent). She therefore paid whatever price that company offered rather than comparing with other providers.

As independent financial advisers we were able to search the whole of the market for the same or better type of policy and were able to reduce Sarah’s premiums to just over half what she had been paying.

If you want your protection costs reviewed or other advice why not fill out our online fact find or enquiry form.

He approached us to take advice in relation to taking his pension noticing that he had the option to shop around using the “Open Market Option” (OMO). The FSA require pension providers to make people aware of this option as it is in many if not most cases financially better off to do so.

We discussed Peter’s options and having access to the whole of the market in other pension providers we were able to secure an income for him 25% more per year than the company he had been saving with.
